In November, we had the honour of hosting Max Computing workshops in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Cairo, Egypt. Our wonderful authors Estelle Ashman and Shahneila Saeed delivered a highly interactive and practical workshop which demonstrated the pedagogy behind our revolutionary course Max Computing. Teachers were encouraged to interact, with activities including dancing to understand algorithms, coding programmes directly into Scratch and actively working on binary concepts.
While internally, we would of course be biased to the workshops. The feedback and the buzz in the room really highlighted the benefit of this type of event.
One customer even shared their thoughts with us, here is a section of a wider review…
The workshop covered various techniques and activities, I learned about binary code, semantic waves and how useful they are in grasping concepts! During discussions I was thinking how I can make use of semantic waves in language learning lessons! But I was particularly mesmerized by the PRIMM technique! I believe it would be super exciting to adapt it to language learning using AI
I love how Max Computing serves SIX strands of education, including Communication and Global Citizenship , with BUILT-IN differentiation for teachers to cater to different and diverse learning needs Codes are assigned to each activity indicating levels of complexity and learning goals! I love!
Other perks of the event included playing with this creative set of cards, the Kahoot! game, my super cute bag of goodies and the lovely chats with MacMillan Education’s beautiful team!
Our dedicated sales team in the region were inundated with requests for samples, more than 25 sample request forms were completed within the first hour of the first days session and calls rolling in from 7am the following morning. We’re feeling excited to see what this might lead too. Go team IC!
