Raising a Reader – our mission to support you to get all children to develop a love of reading
Over four consecutive days of dedicated webinars with literacy expert Charlotte Rance, we will explore how to develop effective reading skills in young learners, both in the home and classroom. Nurturing this appetite for reading not only raises literacy levels but enables young learners to make connections with the world around them, building communication and critical thinking skills that support them throughout their school years and beyond.
Join us as we:
• Unpick the skills children need to start reading in English
• Explore potential barriers to reading with a focus on reluctant readers
• Understand how reading can open doors to cross-curricular learning
• Discover activities, projects and techniques that support reading in class and at home
• Build a strong school-home connection through reading
During these webinars, Charlotte will take you through practical reading tips and skills through the
lens of the Talk About Texts series, a rich and effective program which utilises both fiction and
non-fiction titles to teach reading, vocabulary and oral language skills. Get stuck in with a comprehensive and engaging webinar week full of activities, teaching tips, question and answer sessions, and more!
A certificate for attending each day will be available, along with a named certificate for anyone who attends all four sessions recognising that you have dedicated four hours to support your children to learn to love reading. An exclusive, interactive digital resource will be also be sent to anyone attending all four days.
